I am happy to report York's customer service is nearly as good as GTECH customer service.
I asked if instead of (4) 35's to replace the incorrect 35's they would send 2 more 45's and 10 more 5's and they shipped those out the following business day. Along with that they also sent UPS to pick up the incorrect packages from my home instead of making me print a label and drop them off at the local UPS.
If your going to order weights York and GTECH should be your first stop.
Great Plates, Great Customer Service
First the plates. These are the only iron olympic plates that I know of that hold any sort of tolerance which is important to me as a powerlifter. Most standard barbell 45 lb plates weigh anywhere from 42 lbs to 48 lbs, this is based off of measuring the ones at my gym with a calibrated scale, this is unacceptable in my book. I thought my only option would be to cough up serious cash for calibrated competition plates but luckily I found these. The castings are machined finished giving them a nice smooth surface, the coating is consistent in color and texture giving them a good feel, and the coating seems very thick so no worries about premature wear. I ordered the 690 lb set and all plates came in perfect condition and well packaged. Unfortunately I had some issues with shipping, and the 35 lb plates being the wrong type, which were all fault of YORK and not GTECH. Scott at Gtech was great to work with, very responsive and doing everything he could to make the situation right. I would highly recommend purchasing from GTECH, their prices are competitive, the shipping is free which really reduces cost when ordering gym equipment, and if something does go wrong Scott will have your back and make the situation right.
